Step 1, live event state

All times shown in Singapore time. State is computed from the event schedule and the clock, so it changes through the day on its own. Blocked means no position. Caution means half size, with-trend only, no fades. Open means the event check is clear, go to Step 2.
Rate decision: block 4h before to 24h after · Tier 1 data: block 2h before to 4h after · Tier 2: block 30m before to 1h after

Start with Step 1. If anything there is true, you are done with this pair for the day.

The three methods

Reversal, original method
  • Market is going sideways
  • Sell the top of the range, buy the bottom
  • Obvious levels are fine here
  • Aim for the other side of the range
Sweep and continuation
  • Market is trending
  • Buy dips in an uptrend, sell rallies in a downtrend
  • Small levels only, from the last few days
  • Never sell the high or buy the low
Do not touch it
  • Big event on, or no clear read
  • Or the level is not worth trading
  • Write it down as a skip anyway
  • Check again tomorrow
Busy times to know
  • London 4pm fix
  • Tokyo 9:55am fix, busiest on dates ending 5 or 0
  • New York 10am option cut
  • Tokyo, London and New York opens
Every number in here is a starting guess, not a proven setting. Check them against your own trade log before you trust them. The idea that small levels and with-trend entries work better comes from memory, not data, so treat it as something to test. Write down the pairs you skip as well as the ones you trade, the skips are how you find out whether this is working. This is a decision checklist, not investment advice.
